Google ads will be using your image and name in their ads

If you didn’t already hear about it, starting November 1, Google will be taking users inside their web ads. As reported by the New York Times, it “allows the company to include adult users’ names, photos and comments in ads shown across the Web, based on ratings, reviews and posts they have made on Google Plus and other Google services like YouTube.”

It really isn’t anything new to most with Facebook’s own “Sponsored Stories”.

Luckily it’s really easy to opt out of it.

Going Directly there:

1. Go here: Google Endorsement Setting Page

2. Log in

3. Scroll down, uncheck the box, hit Save, hit Continue

The Longer Way:

1. When you’re logged into Gmail, YouTube, Google +, Google Play, etc. go to your icon in the top right

2. A box will pop up. Click the word “Account”

3. On the list on the left side of the screen, Click Google +

4. Look for the bold letters Shared Endorsements,( should be near the top) and click “Edit” to the right of that

5. Scroll down, uncheck the box, hit Save, hit Continue
