Renault launches concept car with built in Flying Companion Drone

With all the talk about drones these days we’re not surprised we’re starting to see them filter into other parts of our lives including the automotive sector. Renault has introduced their new concept car, the Kwid, which includes a flying companion, aka a quadrocopter drone, that can scan the road ahead for accidents, traffic jams or even any safety issues that may be near you.

Take a look here:

It was designed by a truly international team of designers at Renault and is meant for the younger tech enabled/obsessed international market. The flying companion could be  controlled manually from the dashboard or it could be left to fly and roam autonomously sending back images of what’s going on around you.

We really love this little suv, it has a center seated driver position similar to the  McLaren F1 but Renault sees a 1.2 litter turbo charged power plant behind it. With it’s ultra modern exterior and interior this bold compact suv will be just as comfortable ripping around the streets of Rio as it will be cruising down the coast of the French Riviera.

There’s no actual plans for a release of a vehicle similar to this but we think it’s an awesome idea and can’t wait to see more.
